The idea for this site came after seeing other past and modern "beauty pageant" web sites and thinking it would be good to have something relating to the UK. The period covered, the particular focus and the contests featured were dependent on resources available to us. But please let us know of any corrections or relevant material. |

There are interesting and evocative British Pathe newsreels of some contests (mainly Miss New Brighton and Miss Great Britain) from the fifties and sixties - with some old-fashioned commentary - on the ITN Archive website. There are also examples of beauty contests on YouTube, but none relevant to this web-site. |
